I have everything hooked up and everything works fine .. then when i turn my lights on the sound is gone but the subs still hit? I dont have the dimmer wire hooked up, but i tried both ways, with and without .. any thoughts where im going wrong?

 

Stock or aftermarket HU? Amps? Adapter harnesses?

Strange. Double check all the connections for correctness. Also, meter to see if your main amp is getting +12 when the headlights go on. Check for good ground on that amp also.

Cool man i found it. The wire diagram i was using was not correct. I found a different one and now its ok, ultimately i had the illumination wire hooked up to a speaker wire. So when i would turn the lights on the speakers would go out but the subs would still thump .. very weird, but its ok now.

FYI it was an aftermarket JVC.
