I have an '06 xA and have been having problems for some time with the HVAC control 'binding up.' Specifically, it seems to get twisted or caught up within the dash, preventing me from adjusting the location of airflow to floor, vents only, defrost, etc. I took it in to Scion twice. Once, they could not find the problem and returned it to me as is (after that visit, my rear windows stopped working). The second time they hit me up for $250+ to change the HVAC control ****. For about a week, the **** actually turned all the way as it's supposed to, but there was never any heat coming from the center dash vents no matter what setting I turned it to. Now, the ****'s binding up again and some of the dash backlighting intermittently is out. Anyone ever seen this? Is this shop just hosing me or what? I have it in the shop again today (since first thing this am) and they can't tell me anything.

 

This just happen to mine except it got stuck on the face and foot. My. Heat still works and my back light works also. So does my back window defrost.How much did it end up costing after you got it fixed?
