PSP in xB
What are you talking about? The PSP is a handheld device. I don't think you can play it if it is mounted to a visor or the dashboard. I looked at getting a PSP but when I found out it had no video I/O I decided against it. That and I have a thing against those stupid UMD thingies.
those psp things are sick, ive been drooling ovr the thing for about 3 days now at my werk, so many things you can do, the umd thing is a little ___, but i hope sony comes out with a home version dvd player that can play both dvd and umd, that way i dont have to buy 2 different dam disc

First off the PSP is nothing more than a pile of crap designed to sell the hell out of UMD games and movies and Memory Stick Duos. A UMD holds 1.8 GB worth of data, that means if you were to find a set top DVD player that could play UMD discs whatever movie you were watching would look like crap on a TV because of the low resolution. And it would look even worse on an HDTV. This is the reason there is no video out on the PSP, it will look like ___ on a regular or HDTV.
It's bad enough that Sony came out with memory stick, now they come out with the Duo format forcing people to buy tons of new media. There are other acceptable standards out there to both, but Sony has to go their own way. It's all about licensing. If either of these formats takes off then people would be forced to license the technology from Sony.
It would make much more sense for someone to come out with a way to burn UMD discs, but that means that Sony would have to make that technology available, and I don't see that happening.
Your quote about not wanting to buy 2 different discs with the same movie is exactly what Sony does not want to hear. They want you to buy the DVD and UMD versions of movies, doubling their profits.
Sony is JUST NOW adnmitting to themselves that people want their music in MP3 and not their stupid little ATRAC format. MP3 players have been around for almost 6 years and Sony is just now giving their players the ability to play MP3 files. It's lightnig fast reactions to market conditions like this that make me want to buy and invest in Sony products...NOT.
I could go on about Sony and their attempts at world domination but that is for another forum.
That didn’t take long. We’d just like to use this opportunity to say, we love you guys! Hack brothers and sisters! Hack!
From PSP-Vault comes a piece on how to use non-Duo size memory cards in the PSP. From the how-to’s intro:
One of the questions that people have been asking a lot is, “can I use my older Memory Sticks with my PSP?” The answer to that question had traditionally been “no.” Until today, that is; I’ve discovered a simple, low cost way to use non-Duo sized Memory Sticks in your PSP.
The writer guides you through the process competently, and then hits us with some theoreticals that should have PSP owners quaking with anticipation.
Good job.
[Thanks DKs!]

No. I used to be big time, till Gamecube had a lousy showing game wise. Now I'm in Microsoft's camp, until they release the next one without backward compatibility. I don't want two systems sitting on top one another to enjoy the damn good games that are out now.
It seems like sony kind of needed to invent a new standard for the PSP, even if they did want to include backward compatibility. You can't exactly throw a 5.5" CD/DVD in a portable gaming system.
No, I said what i said in reference to the nintendo fanboy question. Trust me, i know the PSP can't do that. Nor would I ever want to see it to for that matter. But, I only say this cause I want Sony to fail horribly.
Nintendo fanboy anyone?
The PS2 will be the last Sony product I ever buy. If you are going to call me names at least get it right : I am a Sonyhater and proud of it.
SONYH8R!
