Is it something like the start button in Prius? Is it easy to install?[/url]

Darrell installed one on his and I have one too ( I switched to the Ignited one)
They work cool. U recommend highly to use the Ignited brand..it works better.
That one on Ebay tends to get stuck once in awhile.

Adrian,
Where did you mount the Ignited push start button? I heard you can put it in place of the cigarette lighter...but I don't want to sacrifice charging my phone to start my car... Also, when the car is already started, does the button stop working? or is it still hot (drown the engine when pressed?)

nm, read up on it... still need the key and the ignited ones go for around 60-65 dollars at most online stores. just picked a red one up from optauto.com for 64... they're in cali, so shipping is quicker and cheaper. :D
When I bought the Type R one, I mounted it in the small compartment right above the fuse box. It’s the one on the very far left just below the a/c vent and next to the steering column.
We wired it up but the button was faulty or might have gotten a bad relay. The button also will stick once in awhile. This button was not back lit as well.
I ditched that one then bought the Ignited push button start. I installed mine where the cigarette lighter was. I just installed another power outlet elsewhere since I don’t smoke so ..no need for the cigarette lighter to be next to the ashtray.
The Ignited one works flawlessly. It is also back lit and you can change the buttons to any color you want. There are a lot of places you can mount it. You can even mount it inside the compartment below the radio if you purchase the installation panel from Ignited. You have to install other switches as well to make it look more attractive though and not have any holes.
The button is illuminated and make sure not to press it while the car is started. It’s like turning over the key again while the car is already running.
It is cool and you can use it as another security feature. If no one know that you have to push the button to start the car and disable the key then they could not start the car.
It looks good and reminds me of the S2000….overall make sure you invest on a better made switch. Otherwise you just have to worry if your car will start or not with less reliable push button start.
