Question!
Hi! I have seen "The Poor Man's Install Guide to an eD Scion XB Stereo System " over at the tech page. that is sick! https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=150032 He did not specify what kind of adapter he used to connect the amps to the head unit.
I want to build a system around the stock head unit. My question is---
what adapter can I use (BRAND) so I can hook up a 5channl amp?
Is there and adapter that hs also 4 outputs for the front or rear? and maybe for the Sub?
Thank You for the help.

What he used is there but hard to understand if you don't know the parts. I am pretty sure he used rca level adapters (he called LOC...Line Output Convertor). If you get 2 channel ones you will need 2 of these convertors, one for the front channels and one for the rear (you can Y off of one of the rear rca cables to gain an extra output for a subwoofer amp. These little devices wire to your speaker level outputs (speaker out wires) of the stock headunit and convert the signal to RCA level so you can feed rca cables from them to the amp. Any good auto stereo shop should be able to hook you up with some. I ran one of these on the rear of my system for a bit to gain rca level out for my subwoofer amp , It worked fine. I did decide that due to lack of direct subwoofer control that the stock HU just wasn't going to do it for me so I eventually replaced it as well with DVD/NAV, 2 amps, and full speaker replacement...all stuff I really wanted anyway "Really honey I tried not to spend so much on my car....Really I did."
