Question about Bazooka Tube Subs
Ok well i already bought this POS sub. but is there anyway to make it hit HARD? its on full and i changed the stereo mode to xA rather than tC..... this sub sucks man...my stock speakers hit harder than the sub i cant feel a damn thing...... is this what i paid for or is there ANYTHING i can do? plz comment if u can help
the bazooka tubes scion uses is the EL series. small amp, cheesy sub, just a basic sub setup. Bazooka has the RS series tubes that sound really good.
one thing to make the tubes sound good is to fire the tube into a corner, scion fires it at the hatch wall.

Whatever. The Bazooka is fine, if you have ears. Since most people that want it to hit 'hard' have lost their hearing, they should not have a Bazooka.
You know, it's suppose to add more bass, not rattle the road.

First off bazooka sucks they are like wal-mart low end subs.
second if you think that a bazooka sub sounds good you dont know what a good sounding sub sounds like.
Third you are more likely to lose your hearing from running your stock speakers too loud than from a sub, unless you get one that put out very high DB levels and you would have to spend around $300 dollars and up per sub to get a sub that will reach that high.

I must say the bazooka EL series did what they should, add bass to soundsystems that lacked it, mainly factory soundsystems. not ALOT of bass but enough. for most of us though the tube isn't enough. I guess we can't really knock a product that does what is supposed to, as long the manufacturer doesn't claim "can be heard over airplanes taking off or trains going by" or some rediculous claim like that.
i musta have the RS series :? , either that the CD's that i play must have frequency that is able to work well or match w/ the can & the HU? anyways, it's fine for, it won't deff. blo doors but i can't hear my kids or my cell phone ring :D

You don't have to spend $300 per sub to get loud. I had 4 Thruster 8" woofers ($50 a piece) firing downward in my '91 CRX and that thing would make your ears hurt. I don't mean "Turn that down, it's freaking loud!" hurt, I mean "Holy crap, it feels like someone's driving a nail through my ear!" hurt. There are many factors that affect the potiential output of a speaker sytem. I had 3 12"s in my truck at a competition and only hit 139dB while a Civic with only 1 12" hit 143 dB. I have 1 Planet Audio 12" in the back of my box and it is louder than those 3 12"s. I really wish I wouldn't have bought those.

Not true. Hearing loss is attributed to high DBs, not crappy sound....Wait, I have read that before somewhere...wise words. :D
Don't knock stuff just 'cause you don't like them.
Im sorry if i cam off alittle harsh on the bazooka subs. Also i never said that high DB didnt cause loss of hearing. And yes you dont have to speed alot on a sub to make your ears hurt i forgot that the low end subs are tuned very high so when you run them you cant hear the low bass that well like im used to hearing and all you hear is high bass which dose cause loss of hearing. Also im not talking about taking your bazooka sub to a best buy sound comp. and have everyone else have there little $50-$100 subs there showing them off im used to subs that you see at like world finales and the sorts there you hear and see good bass.
yeah....i had a system i paid 250 bucks for......a single 12 DVC fosgate runnin at 1 ohm to a sony x-plod 1000 watt amp...and I custom built a 37htz. tuned ported enclosure.....hit a 150.4dB in a 1st gen jdm eclipse....loud as hell....sounded really good too....hit a little low for my music listening tastes....
My Bazookas sound fine.

Sorry just being a smarta$$! These are my 3 Bazooka ELW1014's in my old Protege5 (wifes car now). They are now in my xB running off of a JBL BP600.1 at a 1.33 ohm load and they sound pretty nice. They sounded alot better in the mazda but I had a diff. HU in there and of course everycar has its on acoustics.
