Default Question about removing kick panels

I was going to run my amp wire and got to the kick panels. I couldn't get them off. I didn't want to pull to hard for fear of breaking the Scion cheap plastic. Here are some pics of the clips I am talking about.

I have 2 questions

1. Any tips on removing the kick panels
2. I will be running 4 gauge. Should I pull through the grommet on the passenger or driver side?

Thanks

just pull, seriously. I ran my 4awg on the passengers side. no real differences except a bit more room to work with on pass' side.

Those aren't clips...it's just a screw through the panel.

nope. the screw is mounted to the floor. the kick panel slides over the screw and a plastic nut goes on to hold the kick panel in place (along with some other clips that are mounted to the backside of the kick panel) just pull

No nuts on mine (wow, that sounds bad). The kick panel itself has a clip with "threads" that kinda keep it in place. It can be seen in the 1st pic above. I very slightly pried those away from the stud, then gave a hearty tug straight back (towards the rear of the car) and they popped right out and sat me on my ___.

LOL...my bad.

Exactly what I meant...it's a threaded rod attached to the car that sticks through the panel. In the tC, there are covers...in the xB, none.

From my Tech article on how to gut the xB:

Just pull, and make sure to watch the threaded rod so you can get the plastic up around it

No kick:
