Questions for ICE noob
Hello,
I've never done ANYTHING ICE related to a car before...always been 100% performance. However, obviously, the xA's potential is not the best performance-wise, so I want to dabble into this area. I've always wanted a flip-up DVD/CD/CD-R player, but I'm not sure what to get to replace the stock head unit...also, I wanted to make the car sound really good, but I can't afford to sacrefice any trunk space or limit the cargo-carrying ability of the car since it's my daily driver and I need to haul stuff to and from school. Therefore, a large amp/sub setup is just kind of out of the question. Anyway, one last thing I was thinking about is LCD screens in the headrests for the passengers to watch what's being played on the DVD player, but I'm not sure how expensive that gets (I wouldn't do any of this myself as I am electronically challenged). Thanks for any help or input,
Tyler

Pioneer avic n1... is an awesome piece for it's price, plus it gives you a vehicle dynamic screen so it makes it seem like the xa is going somewhere...
headrest screens range from 5.6 and up and decent ones go anywhere from 150 to 300 for the grade a screens, 450+ for the 6.5 new panel screens... normally shops charge anywhere from 75 - 150 to install the screens per headrest including running wires etc... you might also need a video amplifier
make sure you look at a shops work before you get them to cut in the screens though.. some shops do crap work

yes you just need a wiring harness to hook it up BUT you also have to hook up to the Reverse lights and the Vehicle Speed Sense wire. Both arent very hard to do but it will take a little more time. You also have to mount the hideaway unit in a certain direction so your navigation isnt pointing 90 degrees off axis...
