Default Randode vs. Oznium

This is most likely a pointless question, but for the sake of discussion....

Who makes better prewired leds, Radode or Oznium?

What about cathodes? Ozniums are so cheap, but are they worth it?

Its just that randode is so darn expensive, 80 for an interior cathode kit, when it would cost $20 with the switch from oznium

^^^^...but you you get what u pay for..I mean cmon $20.00 for cathodes.... sounds like they'll go out right away with a price like that...... and as for randodes, his is top notch... they are awesome..easy to install )(Seriously PLUG N PLAY)( and very bright.. (If your looking for cathodes that is....never looked into L.E.D.s)---But Im sure his LEDs are still awesome..... thats just the way his products are, Very well built, and awesome to have in your car . . . thats just my 2 cents

I think randode inflates the price for their interrior kit because its all prewired for you so you with diagrams and what not, if you buy from oznium you dont have nifty instructions and wires already precut and what not.

basically randode's price seems like b.s. to me

Listen, if you don't like Randy's (randode's) products then don't buy them! I have only used his products and have been extremely happy, plus Randy is a great guy and well known in the Scion world...His products are in fact PLUG and PLAY...And calling his prices, B.S., in a thread is just wrong...If you don't like his prices, products, or whatever DON'T buy them...Take it up with Randy in a PM...

If you think $80 is high, then I really got butt r^ped with the dealer ones that I had originally got when I purchased my ride...They were already installed when I bought the car and they were almost $300...Randy is the innovator of the cold cathode kits for the xB...Can you buy cheaper, yes...However I support Randy because he is a family guy running a business out of his house that he started with the love for his Scion...Randy has done nothing but help and support the Scion community...GL on whatever kit you decide to go with...I have no beef with you, as a matter of fact I helped you out in some PM's that we did back and forth...

PS, to get the VVT-i overlays to fit perfectly, spray the backs with windex and move them around until they are in the right position...Make sure you smooth out all the little air bubbles and let it dry real good before you drive! It doesn't take long for it to dry...

I mean your right when you put it that way because yeah I got the dealer light kit too and looking back i realize that was a stupid move what a waste of $$$! haha but you live and learn. And i really meant no insult to randy (Im edgy because of finals?) and thanks a lot for the overlay advice, I cant wait to put em on.

IMO... It is never wrong to have objections. I'm in sales, and I'd much rather have people tell me the price is too high (which means that they are considering them) vs straight up buying someone else's product.

The proper business response is to justify the higher price with value and quality; in this case, having the whole thing pre wired. A mature response like that is much more likely to win sales than getting defensive.

I think it would be stupid to BAN all negative comments on vendors here... That's just plain stupid. Pointless bashing is one thing, but this is another. You don't see the oil companies banning people from complaining about oil prices, do you? And guess what? They're still profitable and still selling TONS of oil. If the oznium products are really THAT good, the market will show it by him either raising his prices or Randode dropping his. Time will tell... But honestly, $80 is a bit steep. However I've heard nothing but good things. And I could totally see how it'd be worth it, to pay the extra money for the increased output of CC's and the ease of installation.

Randy is a good guy and an inovator as Yelosub said. Maybe it is expensive. Maybe it is not. Price is all a matter of opinion.

Do the other companies give you a full diagram of instructions for the install? Anyone who has no idea of what they are doing can install cathods with Randode's product. Not only does he sell the product, he also sells the OEM looking switch and the full instructions for the install.

Yes, you may save around 50%, but you have to figure out what wires to tap and it will take you twice as long to install them.

I personally have Randode's cold Cathodes in my xB, not to mention with Red, it is hard to get an LED to do what you want to do. Red Cathodes put out great light.

I also believe that Randode's lighting comes with the pre-cut ground and power wires in the right length. Now how much is it worth? Like I said, is $80 to much? Depends on if you know what you are doing. If you do not, $80 is a hell of alot cheaper than the dealership's lighting with do-it yourself instructions.

Thanks Randode for the lighting. It looks awesome!!!

I think you would be better off shellin out the 80 bucks to be honest with you. Its a much cleaner kit and you dont need to strip wires or buy more items to make it work.

Here is the oznium kit your inquiring about?! This is why its so cheap, you need to supply the wire, connectors, wire wrap etc.

Randodes kit (cathode or led) has everything and comes with 4 cathodes not 2 ...

This is the description from his site....
"Mounts under dash and under front seats. Ten times brighter than the dealer installed LED lighting. Includes four 12" cold cathode lights, wiring harness, OEM style switch, mounting ties, and detailed instructions. No drilling or cutting required. Plug and Play. Available in white, blue, green, purple, and lava red. Don't be fooled by cheap imitations. Randode was the first to design and build a cold cathode lighting kit for automotive use! "

That kit looks exactly like what you buy at a computer store and they put there logo on it. I love Randys kits. I personally dont have the CATHODE lighting, but he has done my Speedometer, springs, and fur. He is a very smart and crafty guy. I trust his opinion on all things to do with modding my scion. I will be a repeat customer until the day he shuts down or my xb no longer runs. Keep up the great work Randy!!!

i've got Randy's cathode kit about a month or so after i got my xB, and i got my xB when they had the national Scion launch in 2004...and until now they still shine as bright as day one...and as stated above, Randode's kits come prewired, with detailed instructions..

..oh yeah, about the overlays...i have his faux CF vinyl gas door overlay and i got it around the same time as the cathodes and people still get fooled and think its the real deal

Ive been running Oznium stuff in my B for over a year. Ive never had a ballast go bad, a bulb break, or a bulb burnout. I even mounted several in my engine bay without sealing them in any way like I should have. I know they get wet all the time and they still work every time I hit the OEM switches I also bought from Oznium. Ive never used Randode's stuff but Im sure its great as well. Im an experienced installer so the full kit and pre-wired stuff means nothing to me. If I didnt have the experience or the extra stuff needed to make the Oznium kit work lying around, then what Randode charges would be well worth it any day of the week. Ive had people pay me more than what his kit costs to install cathodes and LEDs in their car. In that case Randode might have saved them money. I think its both good stuff but geared towards different buyers....
