 why is it so hard to find locally??
Ok... sorta rant here...
Cartoys here had their 19th anual tent sale.... supposedly the best prices of the year blah blah blah... .they got demo cars. 2 xBs 1 xA all tricked.. mulitple other cars, venders etc...... 99% of the cars have at least 5 screens in them... and they're selling screens, dvd players etc
Yellow shirt (tent worker) comes and asks me if he can help me find anything.... i say yeah.. looking for a video splitter to add 3 more screens that i got sitting at home.. he's like.. "dont know off hand but i'll go ask..." so cool....i wonder around a bit.. he comes back after about 15min..".. sorry dude... asked our venders, and other people...and we dont have any...." i'm like ... interesting... sitting here demo-ing all these cars with multiple screens, selling screens, dvd hu's etc... and they dont sell parts the parts to connect them together??
Now why is it so hard to find a video splitter locally??? been to best buy, radio shack, cartoys, magnolia, circuit city, and bunch of other stores... and the only video splitter that can be found is the ones for coax cable (cable t.v. type) i mean really.. they show the products, they show how you could have them set up, but dont sell the parts to make it happen?? is it really some sort of industry secret? i've seen them listed online, but cant find them anywhere locally.
its frustrating..
end rant,, feel some what better

The law of supply and demand answers your question. Not too many people are in need of it so why carry it? If you ran a store, would you stock up on all types of things and be unsure if they would sell or not? I can say with confidence and certainty that maybe .04% people in the US need a video splitter. if you ran an electronics store, would you carry video splitters knowing that that maybe 1 or 2 people in your town would be buying them? ;]

i understand the whole supply/demand thing... but still.. figure they have to have something on hand if they are selling everything but them...and doing onsite installs right?? plus figure a video equipment store may have them too... for those doing editing or something...
and seattle area is pretty big.. figure theres more than a 1-2 people looking for them ;)
anyways... yeah.. i'm sure they are not a high demand piece of equipment but when your demo-ing something that requires them.... think they'd be on hand or able to get one for you... they didnt even offer that

I went through the same thing looking for spade connectors, with the two prongs on the end for connecting power and ground cables to amps, for 8-gauge wire. AutoNation, Checkers, Wal-Mart, Ace, Home Depot and Radio Shack. Nobody had anything in 8-gauge except for battery post connectors.
