Been reading the other post and got ALLOT of info..but...I have a Kenwood DDX-7017, and I have a generic camera, with a rca in and a power lead..so I have everything hooked up, to the backup circuit in the xB...the camera led's around the actual camers lense come on when I go into revers but the headunit doesnt auto switch like it says it will in the manual and when I do a manual switch it have no picture...any help on this ....
as far as automatically changing to the reverse setting there is a setting on the HU that might not me switched to automatically change.
the second problem i am not sure. the only thing that i can think of is that you have it hooked up wrong somehow or something.
main thing is just to go over everything one more time and make sure that it is not something silly like a loose wire or something.

Just kinda odd..I've been through the HU manual just says it automatically come on when you go into reverse..and the LED lights on it do that. Its only a 3 wire hook up, reverse circuit for power ( got that right or the LEDS wouldnt come on when I go into reverse ) ground wire, ( got that or again, no power when I go into reverse ) and the 1 rca cable that goes to the HU, plugged into the rca on the HU marked " Back up Camera "
I'm stuck........

i have no clue. that does not make sense for it not to work. then. sorry i cold not be of any help amn. i know it can be frustrating. hopefully someone will post that has more knowledge of what could be causing the problem.
I recently had this problem when I had to disconnect my batt. my Kenwood DDX6019 with the OEM Camera would not come on during reverse automatically. messing around I found it does go on but I had to change the source to see it, not good.
I tried to get into the AV settings but they were locked. I finally found that I was in some default were it would not let me control this and I had to change that default from my remote and then get access to the AV settings and then I was able to make it automatically change the screen in any Vid mode if I was in reverse. So now it's fixed.
If you want I can write down the steps and give you better directions on how I did it with my system. Just let me know and I will write it all down for you.

I finally got it to work..there is a setting in the AV section of the head unit and also a wire coming out of the head unit that has to be installed on the reverse circuit also..so in my case I have the camera leads hooked to the reverse circuit and the headunit hooked to the same circuit...but it works great now !!
Thanks for everyones help !!!
