Default Rear door slamming

Do any of you guys have problems with people slamming the rear passenger doors with your xBs? People always slam the hell outta them in mine because those doors are so light. I guess mainly what I wanna know is if any of you have had mechanical problems with the rear doors due to being slammed? I have noticed that the rear part of the window that doesnt roll down is a little loose. other than that I cant tell anything so far. Im just worried that the windows are gonna come off the tracks or the motors or locks are gonna get messed up. I guess it is under warranty for a while but I just dont wanna have to deal with that stuff anyways.

I worry about that too, but no problems yet. I always warn my passengers not to slam the doors! lol I try not to shut the trunk/doors unless all other doors/trunk are shut. And when any window is open, I am extra careful shutting the doors/trunk.

I wonder if some sound deadening material would work?

^^ it may help calm down the sound of the slamming... so it's not so painful to your ears.... not to mention the added weight of the deadener... I'd say give it a try....

get one of those dog training collars for your passengers. warn then and if they slam the door anyway, electrify them. in reality all that really happens is your catching mechanism moves a bit and needs to be re-adjusted. no biggie. sounds horrible though, huh.

thanks for the responses everyone. Im glad Im not the only one who flips out everytime someone slams it. My girlfriend's sister slams it everytime she gets outta the back and I tell her everytime not to slam it and she always forgets.......no comment. if the window or lock or anything like that were to break it would most likely be under warranty right?

sound deadening does make it sound alot less jarring and crushing soda-canny. I dunno if it stops any damage. I didn't over-do it, however, so the door mass is about the same.

I agree with you...the Dynamat adds weight and the doors shut a lot more solid now.

I eDeaded mine. Huge difference in sound, as well as enough added weight to where people don't slam them as hard.

This is so funny because I know exactly what you're talkin about except its me always slamming the doors . Other people seem to be a lot gentler since it's a new car but I dunno, i guess im more comfortable with it.

Ugh I noticed that when I first got my xB. I thought I was just tripping. I thought my car was just retarded But I guess its because the doors are really light. It sounds really thin and weak. Maybe I should deaden them too...

Actually guys I used to work for Honda In their quality department aligning doors trunks hoods etc. The easiest way to throw a door out of alignment is slamming them. I seriously dont think sound deading material will do any good for that. It will get so bad eventually you will have to slam it to get it to shut right.
