Default regarding that coin box near shift ****

Hey guys i need some help...I put too much change in that coin box one day, and now i can't open the box b/c change got behind the latch of the box. I was able to get all the change out but there's like two quarters preventing the latch from opening fully. So if anyone knows how to remove the door of the box so i can take the change out that would be great...i just don't wanna break the cover to it u know. please help guys.........

Try shaking it while holding it in different positions and also try tappin it a table wit a rag on it ( to prevent harm from table and your part)

Let us know how you make out.. And if all else fails. I would recommend brightwhitetc's Idea and try the dealer.

LOLX~ I'm so sorry, this is just so funny to me. How the hell did u manage to fill the box full anyway? Did u do it on purpose? Cuz i only put coins in them when i get change from purchasing something from outside or drive thru.

If shaking doesn't work... maybe park on a steep hill and try shaking again.

no guys the problem with it is...open ur coin box now there is a slit that coins can accidently fall into...so i think a few pennies or a couple quarters fell in it preventing the cover to stay open...i mean i think its funny...but its annoying to me... i just wish there was a way to take the cover so i can it to the change....

I'm not very familiar with the inside of a TC. I would suggest removing the console or whatever is around it to remove the coins. If it's anything like the XB, it shouldn't be very hard to do.

I don't think you're suposed to put coins in there. I use it to hold my cell.

I use it as a cell phone holder. I put the coins in the top part of the center thing. The cushion prevents any rattling while I'd driving. As for solutions, how stuck is it? Can you get a vacuum cleaner and try to suck it out that way? If its not too tightly in there, then that might work. Otherwise, ask the dealer next time you get your oil change in something. They might have some sort of tool that might be able to help.

wow..! i thought i was the only one that filled my "coinholder" up to the top. i had that same prob tho...lol. do u know how to take your console apart? rip up the shifter surround... then take off the cupholders. becareful though because those coins that are stuck preventing the cover to open will fall through and into your chasis. kind of hard to explain... but i now have a quarter stuck in a crack somewhere down there... =( (we'll just say its my lucky quarter)

haha.. i think its funny that im not the only one that had this problem. rokk on! lol

--edit--

i know that sounds like a lot of work, but the insides of our cars can be taken apart so easily...so 10 mins at the tops. the way that the cover closes for that coinholder/cell holder is really weird. theres a lil track for the door to open vertically, and thats where your coin is stuck. the only way i could figure out to remove it was to take the console apart and shake it out with the cover halfway open.
