If you have an automatic transmission, I recommend it. If not, don't recommend the auto remote start. Some people forget to put the car in neutral then push the remote car start. This is when you break things!

compustar, ultra starters are a few manufacturers that sell remote start systems for manual transmissions. For instance the compustar systems remote start will only work if a certain procedure is done (handbrake up, neutral, step on brakes 2x, remove key, car stays running then close doors and system self arms/locks), it is a failsafe setup since the car stays running when you do the procedure so there is no chance of leaving the car in gear.

i'm in chicago too, have been all my life, but you NEVER get used to this cold a$$ weather. so, 2 weeks after i got my PW xB (new years eve) I ran and got a starter/alarm put on it and i don't know how i lived without one in the past.

if you live in cold climate, i recommend it. i've heard about stories of battery drain, but mine works well and i'll sacrafice a battery if it'll get my box warm for me.

I got a "bulldog" remote starter and installed myself. Didn't cost over $40 all together. pretty simple to do once you find the correct wiring diagram.

mine was $380 on sale, average price for a good one with the pager would be $500 and up, check the papers in your area you might find one for a good price that way

and i'm with pimpe_Ok, i'm gonna add the auto window mode too

Automatic window module=press and aux button on your aftermarket alarm and your windows(a pair of windows per module) will go down and go up once you arm the alarm. the best one i've used has to be DEI (makers of viper and clifford) module cause if your car is armmed and you accidentally sat on your remote it'll crack open your windows and now roll them all the way down BTW the model number is DEI 529T.

as for the remote start...i have been spoiled with that for over 4yrs now and my wife is too with our xB. still desiding wether to do it or not for the tC (5speed) and yes i know the dangers of RS on MT but I've had my RS on my CRX for a long time but this time its different cause my wife is driving it too....

just my two cents,
