Removal/modification of interior door lock *****
Has anyone removed their doorlock ***** and refitted the hole with a cap? I noticed that when I drive with the window down and my arm on the sill, that it is very annoying. I am tall so it might be a case only for us big guys.

Hmmm...yeah with keyless you wouldn't need them but you could run into problems if you ever run the battery down on the keyless or your battery dies in your car, etc. etc. You could sill get in but you'd always have to have left the car unlocked or you're f''ed!

you can use an out source batterY (9v) to open up the doors just incase main battery dies.

I haven't popped off the door panel to look, so does anyone know if the collar that goes around the lock button is a removable piece? If it is, I would just pop it out, wrap some material over it and snap it back in. If you can find something close to the interior material, I don't think it would look too ghetto, if done smoovely.

The door lock/button unscrews from the rod/lever. To remove it, just remove the screws, and unpop the panel from the door. I think it takes around 6 counterclockwise revolutions for it to come off.

TSK TSK TSK. Shame on those who want a fix and never check to see if they can figure it out first
You can "shorten" the door locks easily.
Take off the door panel. Once the panel is off, unscrew the lock **** from the threaded metal post.
You will see there is a white plastic retainer clipped to the door frame, the threaded post runs THROUGH that plastic. That plastic is to prevent the lock **** from dropping down to far and to also hold the rod steady. Carefully unclip from the door and then slide off of the metal rod, turn upside-down and reclip into the hole you popped it out form. Notice it now sits lower.
Now install the screw on lock **** as far as it will go and then reinstall the door panel. the **** will now rise just far enough above the door so that you can still grab it to manually unlock it. If you wish to have the **** truly flush, CAREFULLY extend the trheading cavity inside the **** with a drill bit slightly smaller than the existing hole (check by putting in a bit before drilling - if it can rock around slightly, that's the right size.) Carefully drill in about 1/2" - carefull not to puncture through the top of the ****. Reinstall, possibly have to readjust how far you thread the **** (test the appearance BEFORE installing the screws back into the door panel).
easy.
