Replacement Keyless Entry FOB
I just picked up my 06 xB on Monday and thought it was odd I didn't get a keyless entry fob. I checked with Toyota and they verified that the car did have keyless entry installed from the factory and if I wanted a new fob, they would be almost $90 each and then another $80 to program them.
Is there a more economical solution for a replacement? I hate having to keep the front doors open, while I unload the rear, and then lock it all back up from the front. I was spoiled by my keyless entry in my WRX and now I can't imagine how I ever lived without it.
Thanks!
Joe

I bought one off of E-bay for a used 06. I paid $16 including shipping and handling.
The fob is badged toyota. I think it is for a 4runner. But it works. You might find a Scion one.
The FCC id for my 06 (and it should be the same for all) is HYQ12BBX, and the IC is 1551A-12BBX.
The fob is also badged Denso.
Programming is available online and on this forum,
Cheers,
