Default Review on Eclipse AVN 5435

Sup Guys, i posted on the thread "Eclipse AVN 5435 Vs. Pioneer AVIC-D1" that i will have my review on the Eclipse AVN 5435 when i get it installed and stuff. Well here is the thread, i hope this will help you guys decide which is better or at least serve you some sort of help.

First, the pics.

Okay, Honestly, i can't tell you myself if the install was difficult or not. My car's sponsored by a local audio shop so they hooked me up evreything you see there on the pics installed for 1500. Except for the ps2, i provided that myself but still, i think i got a pretty damm good deal. It took about 4 hours to install all that, they did a really good job.

Just a few things i would like to say that i like most about this new addition is that, i will now never get lost haha. I get distracted alot though, from the videos we were watchin on it and the fact that, i can play gran turismo 4 ON MY CAR makes me feel like ballah.

Okay, now the ratings..

Sound Quality- 5/5 stars (gives you different modes from concert, cathedral, live, and an equalizer and also allows you to redirect music to the frnot of the car or the back!!)

Fitment- 5/5 PERFECT, it looks stock !!

Ease to Use- 5/5 very very very very, i still haven't picked up the manual book yet, and i've done everything on it.

Quality Overall- 5/5. Eclipse is the best, i can tell you this right now

GPS- 3/5. I think it might be me but the lady that talks and directs you in evrey corner of the GPS, doesn' t talk. you just see a highlighted route and an arrow soo i guess i HAVE to pick up the manual to figrue this one out.

Picture Quality- 4/5. It is honestly great if you're not using the ps2. DVD quality is beautiful, evreything is perfect, even with the SUN on it, there is no glare. But if you play ps2 on it, the quality gets worse a little but then again, its a ps2 on a 6.5 " monitor IN A FRIKKIN CAR!! so technicaly i sohuld give it a 5/5

Styling- 5/5. it looks stock, what more can you ask for?? neon lights? lol

Worth the Money- 10/5!! LOL, seriously, this is the best. you can play mp3, hook up a ps2 to it, watch DVDs, play CDs, beautiful GPS, excellent sound quality with lots of options, tells you your speed of your car in mph and kmph and all this other car stuff. Seriously, i think this totally owns AVIC-d1 and i got it the same price as the AVIC-D1!!!

what eclipse can do that AVIc can't, is play DVDs WHILE YOURE DRIVING or Ps2 while you're driving!!! i know some of you guys go, "i don't need to play DVD while i drive" or even play DVDs at all but hoenstly, if you have that feature on it, it feels just that much better. AT the show yesterday, i was playing ps2 and wathcing movies the entire time!!

think about it, i love it

Hope, this review has been helpful.

I want to know about the hook up for the PS2 you have, where does the inverter go? Do you know where I could get that A/V + 115v plate you have there?

taek, talk to toastbox about the voice guidance. He told me that he was having the same issue. I had the AVN2454 and mine always worked. It muted the front left channel when she talked.

Did you have the option of where to place the A/V ports? Say if I wanted external stuff (e.g. PS2) to be hooked up in the back seat instead.

You said that the headunit fits like stock...do you think there would be enough room to install the TCover motorized cover w/ that headunit?

Thanks,

DLS

Default tCover Fitting w/ this head unit

Hi ceruleandraco14,

The tCover will fit as long as the new head unit is the same size as the old one.

That being said, I'm sure that this head unit was designed to fit in the same space as the original head unit, so I am confident that it will fit.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,

Anyone ever figure out how to get the voice guidance to work on the Eclipse AVN5435?
