Default Rewired FOGlights to turn on (Instructions and Pics)

Ok everyone, I was bored today.
I rewired my foglights to come on without the headlights or the key in ignition.
I take no responsibility for any damage to your car.

I put them on a webpage to reduce clutter associated with too many pics on this forum.

I know that, but i just did a quick re-wire just to see if it worked.

The factory foglight wiring is different than usual. I originally wanted to find the wire that turns hot when the headlights turn on. That wire was supposed to go to the ignition wire so the foglights can turn off when you remove the key.

The only way to wire it would be with a relay, but i ran out of relays and my car was taken apart. I will wire it with a relay later this week or next week, with pics.

nice work and keep us posted on the updates... every little bit of knowledge helps so even a bit of imperfect experimentation can put us a little bit more ahead, thanks again!

All you do is use the parking light wire instead of the ignition wire on my second schematic. It will be used as a trigger.

I never seen relays at Radio Shack. Anyways I would use a Bosch SPDT Relay. They are much more reliable. In the past I have used cheap $1 relays from China, bought at a mom/pop electronics store. Works just as good. Bosche will run you $4-$6 depending where u go.

I usually shop anywhere else than Radio Shack, their products are crap, well at least from my experience.

They are only a couple of bucks, they are in a cabinet full of drawers, the cabinets have the loose fuses, resistors, caps, transistors and stuff in them. Just look in the book on top of the cabinet and it will tell you which drawer it is in.
