Default Rockford Fostage Punch Stage 1 - Is it worth it?

Hey guys,

I really want to change my crappy "sound system" if you can call it that....

I like the price and the way the Rockford Punch Stage 1 Looks:

My only concern is that they are really not worth the money and I should maybe buy somenthing else. Are any of you guys running this Sub?? I know I will get all types of feedbacks and recommendations...I am willing to hear all of you out. The one thing u guys have to keep in mind is that I really dont want to spend more than $100 dollars..LOL....U know being a Poor Coolege student and all :D ....

PS: I found them for about $50 a piece... :D

On a old forum I was part of, I was told most RF subs are good. I my self might even look into this sub when I get a scion. Mostly because of the low cost of it is a + & it seems like the rms power & other specs are good. I would be looking for a little extra thump, not something that can be heard a mile away.

I've run all kinds of RF subs. . . 3 Power Punch DVC 12's in a Corolla (sold) and a 1 Punch 12" in my Lexus (blown because of crap amp). I didn't invest as much in audio since the Corolla, as I nearly cried selling that system. I've always been happy with Fosgate subs. . . they hit tight and hard. I wish I didn't run that crappy amp with the 12" in the Lexus tho. . . they shop sold me an extended warrantee and replaced it with a Sony Xplod, which I can confidently say is no match for the Fosgate.

I'm not an car audio freak, so I don't know all the brands and all the types. . . but I would give you my recommendation on RF, definitely over the cheap Pioneer subs, Sony, or others in that class.

If MTX is roughly the same price (dunno if it is or not, might be more) give them a consideration. . . also consider JL.

I like they way those subs sound, they just can't take too much power... add those to a P3002 and you have an extremely clean bass hit for the price!

Punch p1 $ 89 we are doing 2 for 105 or something of that likes...
Punch p2 $ 119
Punch p3 $ 250
Power t1 $ 399
Power t2 $ 650

those are prices for 12's

I'm running 10" P2 in my xA with a Fosgate P3001 amp. Pretty much identical to the P3002, but just mono for just the sub, oh yah, and the neat sub volume control as well, that's a definite plus.

Hits really clean for sure. Seeing how your a poor college student like me, it's a definite setup i would suggest. I got mine through a hookup at bestbuy and got the amp + p2 + box for about $300.

Seeing how you don't wanna spend over $100, I'm gonna guess you already have an amp? With $100 to get you a p1 and box is cutting a kinda close, but nevertheless, is possible. If you have questions, msg me.

Thank you for all your help guys!

I have decided to go with the Punch Stage 1 as I had originally mentioned. I have a Kenwood 250W amp that I will use for the time being...

As far as a box for it I still dont know what I am going to do. Currently I have a box with 2 crappy 10's that I really dont need...I might modify that a bit...

Thank you for the replies...

Locked!! :D
