i found a red skateborad wheel for the roller pedal i made so it will match the rest of the interior .

Why? would you do that, IMO stupid idea! If you wanted a red pedal than paint it red.

 

The gas pedal is plastic. The assembly is metal.

As for using the wheel as a gas pedal, I don't know... I'd have to check the clearance for Wide Open Throttle. Also, I don't know about you folks, but I like my foot firmly placed on the gas pedal.

VW people used to do roller pedals. it serves a purpose... its not for looks.

yup that's true.. my old 66 bug had a roller pedal, it was perfect for cruzin' around town or long trips, just keep ur heel in on place and it just rolls, some ppl didn't get it but if u ever had a aircooled volks, then u would understand....

From the reviews, sounds like you may be the first xB with a roller pedal. Looks good, functional, and goes with the contrasting interior very nicely. Have fun with your mods, and continue making it uniquely yours. Enjoy it. Are they available in white?
