I knew about the odometer being off because of the tire size, still looking for mile markers they don't have them where I normally drive..I also have been trying to get the fuel level and MPG correct seems to be pretty good I took it back to default, reset the engine size and tank size then filled it up by letting the handle click off by itself (not topping off)) got inside did the fillup>done command ran it down to almost a 1/4 tank then filled it up and did the fillup>adjusted how much gas I put in>done. Seems much better now!

Stick it right on the tilt steering column and you can reach the buttons right through the steering wheel. Keep it out of bright sunlight or it could melt.

I got mine in the cubby just drilled a small hole in the top and snaked the cable in, left the extra coiled behind so I can take it out a few feet if I need too. Next time I'm going to order a extra cable so I don't need to undo it if I want to move it to another car!

Nice dyno runs there 365Motorwerks - what does a stock unmodified xB do? Be interesting to see what the Synlube does on my stock setup.

can you drill a hole on the top side of the long cubby in front of you without any fear of hitting anything important?

and then where did you route the line thru?

thanks

The one in the web site you have in your signature - 181+ WHP - looked like your wheels on the dyno with 7.5psi boost on the turbo in the dyno video. OOPS sorry that's another xB.

You are going to want to have it close to reach the buttons easier or if you stuff it in the long cubby you will want the wire coming out the back straight into a hole there so that the unit is firmly mounted against the back side of the cubby so when you press the buttons it does not move on you. One of the problems with reaching for small buttons while driving is that your hand will bounce around and miss the buttons. That's where I had mine for a little while then I moved it to the top of the steering column between the steering wheel and the dash with two velcro pads to make it stick there on the curved surface. Ran the wire out the back connector into the gap for the steering wheel tilt and you don't even see it. If you have to you can remove it from the velcro.

I wish that was my box pushing 180 The website is mine but the xb was at the ZPI shop where they were testing out the new turbo setups, supposedly you'll pick up a few MPG with the turbo...of course you have to keep your foot off the throttle!

As for hitting anything when drilling I actually removed the console (very easy to do) and drilled down, I then ran the cord from the OBDII plug under the dash and brought it in behind where the A/C **** is so that when buttoned up you don't see the cord. There is enough slack that it will reach the backseat if needed! But just like Jan06xB said it is a little trickyer to push the buttons in there but I like it!

Hey man you can't read it down there and where you gonna keep the CD's??

Hey what the heck was that POP at the end of the dyno run? Looks like a pretty safe way of running up the speedo to see how fast it will go to. Anyone ever test it in lower gears to figure out the tranny losses?

The first mounting spot I tried was where the ashtray is in the xA. Turns out if you pull it out the empty spot is the PERFECT size for the Scangauge:

Unfortunately, it was very difficult to see in that spot so I had to move it. It is currently temporarily mounted in the empty space between the head unit and the HVAC controls. I would like to take a dremel to this spot so I can flush-mount the unit (it looks like there is enough room to do it) but I haven't gotten up the nerve to start cutting yet...

I can read it fine, usally just glance at the temps and MPG anyways there is enough cable that I can pull it out and move it onto the dash if needed..I have a lower than stock seat so the steering wheel is right in the way if I put it where everyone else does right above the colum..CD's go in the door!

Pop is the blowoff valve as they let off the throttle..As for the drag there is so generic percentage on drivetrain loss for most cars that must have came from someone doing just that test..but most dyno runs are to establish a hp/torque reading over the various RPM range you can use it for tuning purposes or simply to set up shift points..

Hummm you lowered your seat huh . . . I was thinking of adding adjusters to the rear vertical supports to tip the seat base down in the back more because if I tip the back to recline a little I end up sliding off the seat forwards. I had a friend in teh car last month and he couldn't keep himself balanced in the seat on turns because is legs were to short to reach the floor. He kept grabbing the hand rail above the door and the shoulder strap and the dash.

You can do as others have and add a few washers of the right size in between the seat base and the floor in the front that will give you the same effect easily and for under a buck!

Yeah guess that would be easier than threading the pipes and adding a threaded tube over it.
