Default Scion Car Alarm Keeps Going OFF For NO REASON

My Alarm on my XB keeps going off at random times. The security guard at work said it went off 4 times in one day. It goes off on average 5 times a day for no reason. I will wait until I hit 20,000 miles to get this checked out. Anyone else have this problem?????

I used to hit the panic button when I'd have something else in the same pocket as my keys. The fob has pretty good range. I now have a pocket dedicated to keys and keys alone.

perhaps there is someone that is interested in your box?

you could try adjusting your sensor (fig c-1):

I don't know if the Scion alarm utilizes a voltage sensor to pick up the dome light coming on when a door is opened, but if it does, sometimes a cell phone charger can create enough of a dip in voltage- say when a call comes in- to trigger an alarm.

I have this problem too and it seems so random. It is 4:30 AM and I am looking online to see if there is anything to be done. I'd hate for my xB to be the hated car on the block! The other cars (bmw, corvette, mariner, volvo, prius) in the immediate vicinity don't seem to have this problem. I did leave my cell phone in the car, so maybe Kent is right. Since it seems so random I wonder if it is when I only leave my cell in the car, which is random...Thanks everyone!

Default Cell phone might be the cause ---

--- I went on a suggestion mentioned earlier and it seemed to work: the night I had the alarm problem, I had forgotten my cel phone in the dash comparment behind the steering wheel. The next night I made sure I didn't do the same thing and I had no problem with the alarm going off. In my case, I thnk I solved the problem I post again if it wasn't the case...
