it goes on the windshield, not suspended from the roof like an xB's.

I wonder maybe if I could take the mirror arm that's going to the xB's roof and attach it to this mirror somehow.

you COULD - with some highly creative work. Really, you can do anything, just depends on how much work you want to put into something.

Ah, I feel like the pro here...

I have the Highlander Chromatic Mirror.
In order for this mirror to fit the xB, I had to have the mount that fits on the window from the Toyota Highlander. Seems that both the Highlander and the xB have the same curve to the glass, if not the same size.

I was told, that the one for the tC, the mount will not fit the the xB; the curve of the glass is not the same.

Oh, the one I got? It has the temp and compass, and auto dims. Looks nice, and sits well on the window. Took about two hours to put in, and most of that time was to allow for the glue to dry on the part that adheres to the window. The wires go down the drivers side pillar.
Here is what it looks like.

Where do I find one like that and what's the cost?

TJ, can you post a pic or two of what the mirror mount area looks like now?

Just want to see what I'd be getting into if/when I try to install it myself... and how the finished product looks

TIA

I'll try to get my lazy butt out and take some photos...But the mount looks pretty much like any onther mounted to the window mirror. One thing though. The wires go up from behind the mirror on the glass (covered), and you see that. Although it tends to look like the 'arm' that holds the mirror to the roof, from the front of the car. It cost me $297 ($300) installed by TOYOTA. That is also where I got the mirror.

I think you could do this mod yourself, but just let the glue dry for at least two hours.

Of course, part of the mod is installing the temp sensor up front, and the wireing for the electronics...SO it might be out of range for some folks.

I personaly liked paying for the install; less headache, and if they screw it up, then they have to fix it.

Of course, I'm old and tired of doing some mods. When I was younger, I would have done this myself, I think.
