Default Scion XB cd player removal and install

Ok I just sold my stock 6 disc changer on ebay and I was wondering how to remove it from the car and put the cd player in shipment mode. People have asked me if they bought it if I could put it in shipment mode. And finally are there any parts i need to keep to install my new kenwood unit?

Im not sure about shipment mode, but all u need to do is pop off the dash, take out the 4 screws attached to the head units mounting bracket, pull it out, and there will be a black wire (antenna) pull that out, and two other connectors.

You must remove 2 screws located behind AC-fan controls before you pull the front away.

thanks that link helped out alot, but now does the bracket that holds down the stereo itself get kept for the install of the new head unit? I know I had to that with my WRX when I installed an aftermarket cd player.

You can pick up a metra one at your local Circuit City. They might have to order it, but it's worth a call to see if you can get it locally.
