Scion XB Emergency Breaks - 200k Miles Need help!
Hello!
The Emergency Breaks (EB) are not engaging correctly.
1st, I went ahead an changes both Rear Drums breaks (pads looking low, so I changes it).
2nd, I opened up the interior EB panels (where the lever is) and found the EB wires are a bit loose (My XB is 200K miles and I never missed with the EB wires before) so I went ahead adjusted the EB volts so the EB wires are snug (See video:
).
I took it for a test drive 5mi hr, however when I pull the EB lever, it's still not stopping the car going forward right away. I had to pull the EB lever very hard to make it stop. Also, when I put it on D (EB Brakes on), it's till creeping forward.
How snug do I need to adjust EB volts to pull the wires in the EB control panel?

Probably don't have the rear brake shoe adjusters assembled correctly. It an easy mistake to make.
Take the drums off and look at the forks on both ends of the auto adjuster. There should not be a stepped notch visible at either end - that should be on the inside.
The rear one goes over the parking brake lever.
The front one goes over auto adjuster sheet metal thing.
