Default Seat recovering

I was wondering if anyone did there own self recovering of the seats in there box? I am looking to get some ideas to replace the seat insert in my 05 box with gti like plaid or something fun funky like that. I figured if I did it right i could save alot of money by not going to a custom shop any ideas or opinions would be welcome!

Sure, but you'd be better off with Seat Covers, the ones specifically designed for Scion Seats (form fitting)

I have done both the Katzkin re upholstery leather kit, and also the Clazzio leather kits. By far the Clazzio kit was alot easier to install and looks and feels just as nice as the Katzkin. The Katzkin kit took me over 20 hours to completely install, Clazzio took only 1.5 hours by myself! and its way less expensive. they dont have any crazy patterns, but custom colors are available

Does anyone here have the clazzios What are they like? are they like glorified walmart seat covers or do they looks like factory leather seats? for 400 and change thats not a bad price especially if you can do it yourself when it comes to the install!

Installing properly made replacement seat covers is not that hard. Simply duplicate what the factory did installing the covers. Pay attention to streaching and prodding of foam so that you leave no major wrinkles or lumps (having some polyester upholstery padding to stuff in spots is a good idea in case you need a bit). The end result will depend on your attention to detail and the quality of the covers being installed. I did my car over in leather covers made by Barkley on the first day I owned it. The covers were wicked cheap (closeouts), installed well and still l.ook excellent 2+ years and 25k miles later. Good luck.
