Did you get the upgraded Scion Security system? It is expensive but it came with a warranty guaranteeing that the car can’t be stolen. If for some reason it does get stolen, then Scion will pay for the deductible and the difference between insurance cash and a new car.

The sales guy didn’t even know about this until I showed him what Scion sent me.

No remote starter but it is pretty reassuring.

the question is...what type of alarm are you looking for? there are different types, two-way paging system with either the LCD or LED screen and there's your basic RS with a one way 4 button RS alarm system. also depending on what type of car you have. if you have an xA or xB you don't need a bypass kit but if you have a tC you will need one. there are 2 types of bypass kits for the tC, one that you can just program the signal and one where you will need to sacrifice one of your keys(usually its your valet key) these two also vary in price.

hope this helps,

I recently bought a CrimeGuard from www.crutchfield.com but have not installed yet. This is a system designed for cars already equipped with keyless entry, but includes starter disable and other sensors. I paid $99 for this item.

well the RS alarm I have is the Audiovox APS-996 on both my xB(had the alarm for a yr n a half now) and my CRX(about 2 yrs now) ..lick Me:.. and has not failed or anything on me. I went with audiovox over the viper 790xv because the viper only gave you 1 2way remote while the audiovox gave you 1 2way and 1 regular 4 button remote. you can get these audiovox now for about $118 + shipping and an average shop will charge you about $130-180 for the install.

hope this help,

im not near oc. but i can do an installation for you.. the alarms i have arent primarily auto start (made for a manual), but they have many extra output features

if you're in sacramento anytime...
