Default Selling radio, quick question

As some of you may know, I have a bone stock HU for sale in the classified section. The potential buyer mentioned something about an anti-theft security setting in the radio. They said that if I don't put it into "shipping mode" before I remove power that he would have a paperweight instead of a radio.

I read through the manual and the only thing I saw about power loss is the car type being reset.
Can anyone confirm/deny this? Thanks.

Edit: Yes I searched, and found a hint that "no keys" are needed for the stock HU, but I want to make sure that this holds true for the 06 model.

Im also very intersted in this as I have not heard of anything about this.

I am tradeing my stock HU in my 06 very soon and want to make sure that if I disconnect power that the radio is still going to work after shipment.

Ship mode is for only 6-disc headunits. Hold down the Disc. and track up buttons while turning the ACC off then back on. This protects the CD Mechanism from any damage during shipping. The trays will compress and the Laser Diode will move into what is called a home position.

If you have any other questions about the audio system please let me know.

"Ship Mode" isn't a problem its just a way to protect the CD Mechanism from shock when its been removed from your vehicle.
