Setup questions. . .
Ok here's what I got. . .
1. Alpine 9855 HU
2. Amp of undisclosed name cause it's too embarrasing and Cap
3. 2 JL 10w1v2 125-150w RMS
4. Alpine Type-S SPS-171A 250w peak 50w rms Component speakers (not installed yet)
Here's what I am going to get. . .
Alpine MRV-F545 4/3/2 channel amp 125w x 4 (I'm am going to use a 3 channel set up
i.e. 125w x 2 and 125w x 1(subwoofers)
I am going to run two channels for the Component speakers up front.
Bridge the other two channels for the subwoofers.
Not going to use the rear speakers at all.
Questions is, Is the amp going to run too much power for the Component speakers or will I be ok?
I talked to a rep over at alpine and he says just keep the levels low on the amp. For some reason I am still unsure about that. Any advice or knowledge that can be given on the setup would be appreciated.
BTW 2 things
1. I haven't got the amp yet . . . (once I can figure my little dilemma out I'll decide to get the amp or not)
2. Please no flaming. The last car I had was set up before I even bought it. So I am kinda new at setting things up.

the amp should be fine. if you do overdrive the speakers you can always lower the gain on the amp if needed.
my concern is the amount of power going to the subs. my dealings with Alpine amps is that the amps are really great for mids/highs but tend to lack in sub performance. my 2 cents though.

Thanks for the input, I definately am going to go with the amp. . . I was thinking of running a mono amp later down the road. I have money but it takes me time to build it back up after a purchase such as the one I will be making. Iguess I am going to have to see about how the amp performs when everything is in place.
