Default Should I get rid of the factory stereo?

I am buying my Box tomorrow!!! Satelite radio is a must for me (I am addicted to Howard Stern). The dealer wants about $400 for a Sirius adapter. Should I go for it at the dealer or just buy am aftermarket H.U. that is Sirius compatible. FWIW - I plan on upgrading the factory speakers in the future - nothing crazy, probably components in the front (I like Boston Acoustics and Focal), a small sub and a couple of amps.

I was in the same predicament. I replaced the HU and got XM for what the XM Scion kit costs. Granted you are (I assume) getting an '06 which has a nice head unit, but the amber and the buttons on the 05 HU bugged me enough to replace it, and I still have the HU should I want to go back to it. I do not regret my decision at all whatsoever.

Thanks for the replies.

Boxman - do you have any recomendations for a decent HU without spending over $1k? I like the double din look, don't need nav or dvd, well nav would be cool, but not in my budget. I have alpine stuff in my other car - I like the controls.
