Default Silverstars safe for stock harness?

I've heard of people's luminics frying their harnesses. I was wondering if sylvania silverstars would melt the stock harness. Would I still need to beef up the harnesses or would I be able to retain the stock harness?

They are stock wattage and work just fine. No problems here.

No problems here after 8 months in the headlights and 4 months in the fogs.

^^What they said. I've used Silverstars exclusively in all our vehicles for over 3 years now. Never had a problem.

SilverStars are the same wattage so they will be just fine for the harness. Sorry, but now I'm going to hi-jack just a little bit. I've got sealed beam SilverStars on my pickup and they seem to only last for about a year, one will burn out and within a couple of weeks the other will burn out too. I'm on my third pair and if these don't last, I'm done with them. I would like to go with SilverStars in my tC but I'm concerned that they won't last there either. Anybody else have the same problem in a bulb only light? I'm hoping this is just a sealed beam issue.

I've had SilverStars in my tC for about 6 months with no problems. The only advice I can add is that if you get SilverStars, just be sure to install them correctly. Don't touch the bulbs with your hand(s)!! That maybe causing some peeps' bulbs to burnout quicker. (With any brand bulb, not just SilverStars.) I have a question...does anybody know if the SilverStars make decent daytime running lights? My g/f has a Matrix and I would like to get her some SilverStars, but with lights being on constantly, will they last? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hmm..nope, no problem here. My Scions are too new to tell yet, but I had SilverStars in my last truck and my wife's last car for well over two years. In that time, I never had one burn out. These were the "bulb only" type. I am very careful to wear a pair of latex exam gloves when handling the bulbs as to not get any oils from my skin on the bulb. That is the number one thing that will shorten their life.
