Wireless sat hook ups are like putting a FM adaptor on your AM radio. It will still sound like a AM radio.
IOW, if you want real SAT sound, you have to have a tuner hooked up to your SAT radio. Not some cheesy adaptor that runs through a FM signal.

You can add any audio source to the OEM radio with this: http://logjamelectronics.com/pietoy03aux.html
its easy to put a sat radio to the oem radio, it depends on exactly what type of sound quality you are looking for.
Just to add some further information for those who may be interested.
Just as TJandBOXCARWILLIE said to get true quality satellite sound you must have a direct tuner that will connect directly to the audio source to make it sound good. On the other hand, many of the average persons are not going to be able to here the difference of a direct tuner versus a strong fm modulated signal. Wireless fm modulated systems are good as easy plug and plays but if you come into an area with a radio station using that signal or one close to it your signal will dramatically deteriorate. However if you want to hardwire the fm signal, by connecting an fm modulator directly the antenna system you dramatically improve your signal at those times.

imo if you wait for toyota/scion to make avai the sirrus tuner
their most likely to make it compatibe with the current head unit to save money and development i have the factoy xm
and freakin love it the sound quality cannot be compared to
fm modulated or you can go 4 an aftermarket tuner and head unit

i talked with scion and they told me that you'd need a new radio to use sirius.. it would begin being available at the dealer in february... sucks for all of us who have the earlier one.. in that case the PIE adapter (link above)... would work fine..
Since the radio comes XM ready, can I install sirius instead? If so, how?
not to be rude but hooking anything up to that radio just to get a Sirius signal is upsurd.....save a few pennies ****** that factory box outta there and get a sirius ready HU that doesnt require anything but an antenna.....locate the antenna on the top of your roof anywhere near your front windsheild or do like i did and put it further most on your dash INSIDE your car.....the latter looks better to me but you do sometimes lose the signal becuase it needs a clear unobstructive signal and inside the xb with its straight up and down windshield isnt the best place but the best looking.
Sirius radio is tops....having listened to both Sirius playlist and available stations are the better of the two..Sirius reflects the couple "extra" dollars also. I have it in both of my cars and really once you get it you cannot live without it. it kinda eliminates the need for CD's.
When you replace the OEM HU with a good aftermarket HU you increase sound quality by 10 fold. the SQ is near CD quality the OEM HU with a modulater sticking outta somewhere just wont compare. if you are goin to spend the money dont go cheap and waste your time. get an aftermarket HU preferably an ALPINE (that wont cost alot) and you will be the happiest kid on the block!

Hey, it's your money. Spend it on whatever. Life is too short to care.
