T1807 radio question.
I am a newbie with all this and i dont know much much at all. I want to get sirius radio for my xa and on the face it says the radio is sat ready. Do I need a sirius reciever or is the face enough? Can I go with either Xm or Siriius? Anyone know anything about this stereo???
Thanks :

I have allready asked the same question about the stereo in my 2006 xA....so here is the answers I got. Yes you can use XM or Sirius but you have to get the Scion OEM reciever to be able to use either one. The dealership quoted me $399 for the sirius reciever.

if you have the OEM HU you have 2 choices, OEM Tuner or Plug'n'Play. the 1st you can control thru the OEM HU & the other is it's own part & just plays thru the radio.

Default hmm... will this work?

I see there's a little 16" jack in the center console between the seats. I can't imagine what that could be other than an "audio in" jack (although I've never seen one so far from the stereo before).

Is it? If so, I can buy a Sirius transponder and connect its "audio out" directly to that "audio in" for better sound! no?

If it IS an audio jack, how does it work? I mean, when I plug something in there, does it automatically override the radio or CD? Or is there a button on my radio to select "audio in"?

Thanks,
Love, the Newbie!

that is your aux input....there should be a button on your stereo that says aux....this will only work when there is something connected to it....but to answer the question about the quality of the input the aux sounds alot better than a FM modulator and you do not have to keep switching stations when you are driving. So as long as your Sirius plug and play reciever has an audio out you can plug it into there....hope that helps

from what I've heard you get noise or static if you don't use a ground loop isolater or something, search for a thread by "06BOX" she had that problem.
