Default So You Want Some New Bulbs......

hey. i wanted to know what aftermarket bulbs the nice people here have used on their rides. i'm looking for some nice hyper yellow bulbs but am not sure what brand to buy. i've heard good things about nokya and of course piaa, but i'm not sure i can justify paying double for the piaa's. the nokya stage 2 bulbs are bright as anything, but you have to buy some special harness for them and i'm not too keen on cutting up wires just yet. i also keep seeing some euro dezigns bulbs on ebay for a good price, with a warranty, but i don't know if those bulbs are any good. anyone test them out?

anyways, i worry about the longevity as most of the time these bulbs burn out within a few weeks. anyone have any luck finding something great?

my last car had an aftermarket hid kit but it was a pain in the **** and i had to replace the bulbs about once a year (strangely enough, a week or two after the warranty ended.) so i don't want to go that route.

thanks and help!!!!!

I've had the JDM Yellow Luminics on my xA for close to 4 months and no problems, great quality and price, and a one year warranty. Can't lose (unless you touch the bulbs with your fingers). They use the stock wattage so you dont need to upgrade your harness or anything.

I've got Luminics JDM Yellows for fogs. I was going for the Euro look of blue lights and yellow fogs but now that I've got the smoked lights I'm trying to decide whether to go all yellow or all blue. Anyway, they give good service and 1 year warranty just don't touch the glass of the bulb with your hands/fingers. The oils from your skin will shorten their lifespan.

i'm going for a different look for the headlights. i plan on spraying them yellow. i just don't want to be mistaken for another scion. that's why i'm trying to find a really good yellow bulb. i think i'll be getting the luminics soon since it seems to be a pretty popular choice.

i don't trust the overlays myself. i've seen the film ruin headlights. as for sprays, i've used them to rice up some of my friends cars and i think they look pretty good if you do it right. and it lasts forever unless you get some paint thinner on your headlights, but if that happens you probably deserve it because i can't really fathom how that would happen in the first place.

I used to have yellow H4s in my Accord Coupe in the late 80s, got pulled over all the time because of it. Can't have yellow headlights in CA. How do you guys get around that?

live in miami where the only thing that really gets the cops attention is a booming system. honestly, most cops around here are ok. just know where you can and cant play around and you'lll be fine.

so my word officially is worth nothing since i went ahead and bought some nokya bulbs.

i went to a local speed shop to pick up some tires and saw they had the bulbs. i have a pretty good relationship with the sales people there and they let me have the headlights, foglights, and sidemarker bulbs for $35.00! not too bad huh? hopefully they'll work out ok. i haven't installed them yet since i'm waiting to do the headlight mod i mentioned in my earlier post. basically, i'm planning to do the whole car on saturday so i want to see how everything looks together instead of just doing it piece by piece. wish me luck.
