what did you use for the headliner? a heavy felt?

 

I used a maroon tweed. My wife bought me six yards of black and 6 of maroon for X-mas. The pictures really don't do it justice at all, it really goes well with both the red and BCP paint. I can't wait to get back to the US and let some fellow xB driver see it!

Speaking of sharing resources. The leather I bought is the kit off of Ebay..well actually my wife got if for me for X-mas. It could fit better, but I am limited on resources such as Dacron to properly stuff the seats to make them look full. They came out good thought for just going straight over factory foam.

Funny enough right before I read this post I just got done sewing up one visor in black. It does contrast well.

 

how tough was the tweed to install? I'd love to get some navy blue in mine.

It's pretty easy to do the headliner with, you need to understand how the fabric moves as you work with it. I recommend a trial and error with a piece of wood and such. I have been working with tweed for about 8 years now and I have a good feel for it.

Thanks for the comment on workmanship. I wish the camera would show the actual color of the tweed. It is a close match to BCP and looks about 5 shades darken than in the picture.
