Default Speaker Adapters

Where can I find a speaker adapter for the f/cking weird opening in the doors and back speakers?

I found this on Scosches website:

It's a "2000-Up Toyota Speaker Adapter" Will it fit? There's no sizes or ordering info or anything, just that picture.

When I first put new speakers in my box, I just gutted the stock speakers (ripped out the "speaker" part with a little hand saw) drilled some holes and fit them in. But I'd rather have something else than my little ghetto rigged adapters.

yeah they look like the type that should work for the opening...... BUT i just drilled new holes.... i don't like adding stuff like that to a car in the speaker dept. that may cause extra rattle or depth if i don't need to know what i mean?

What do you mean you just drilled new holes? What size speakers did you use? Did you make your own adapter?

Pics would be helpful

Thanks! :D

those look like 2003 corolla speaker adapters, to install them, you have to drill out the rivets holding the old speakers on and re tap new holes for the new speaker adapters....i do those all day..though ive never done it on a scion yet. Ill do those soon when i get my xb..

Installing 6.5"ockfords front and rear in my xA as we speak. I'll let you know if there are any complications.

I installed Infinity Kappa 6.5 in the front. The bracket they came with were to small. I had to go to Circuit City and get a Toyota Bracket. It fit the pre drilled holes and all I had to do was mount the speaker to the bracket. Wasn't to hard.

Thanks... did you do the back speakers yet? I'm guessing Circuit City would have the bracket for the 5.25s as well.

Good choice on the Kappa's.. I got those too

Thanks. Im a big fan of Infinity Kappa. I haven't pulled the back speakers yet. That is my next project as we speak. Like you said I would assume Circuit City would have the bracket for the 5.25 as well.

I thought BestBuy or Tweeter would have them but they don't. I was surprised by that.

you should be able to fit 5 1/4 speakers in there as well. there is enough meat on the bracket to drill into, but why would you go smaller when you can go with the bigger 6.5"? I would prolly go with RF componets up front and some decent two ways in back...oh...yah, dynamat would help as well.
