speaker mounting plates
Anyone got a set of mounting plates for a set of 6 1/2's in the front doors of an xB? I would just rather not go buy some MDF and make my own, so I thought if someone had a set, I would just buy them. Let me know..Thanks

Should there be adapters to get the infinity kappa perfect 6.1 to work? I tried to get them installed and the installer made a custom plastic spacer so it didnt hit the window, but still afterwards I was informed the door panel wouldnt sit flush..

there is a universal toyota mounting bracket made by scosche that can be used for 6.5 " speakers. I think the model # is "sat-6" It brings the speakers out about 1/2-3/4" from the window and is supposed to work just fine. I would have used those but didn't order them in time for my install, so I just cut the factory "6.5s" (actually 6.75") apart and re-used the mounting frame. It brought the new 6.5's out and I have no problem with clearence.
A lot of people also make their own plates out of mdf.
I wonder how deep the kappa's are. I used cdt 61-a's and have no trouble with clearence. My door panel sits just fine as there is at least 1/4-1/2" space between the speaker and the inside of the door panel.

Metra honda spacers work fine, they were used on mine with my Kappa Perfect 6.1s. Everything fit fine, and the door fit back on fine also. Mounted the crossover box on the bottom left side of the door panel on the inside, just used self tapping screws.
