Default Speakers wont fit in dash!!!

I bought a pair of infinity reference 4021 speakers for my xb, i made sure they would fit left to right and screw in properly, and they did, but up and down they dont fit, the factory grille will not click back down because the tweeter is sticking up too high, does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can mount this without having to buy new speakers?

Infinity 4012?

They are 1-7/8" deep according to Infinity site. I had Vifa tweeters in there, 4" dia plate x 2" deep x 2-3/4" magnet too. It did smash the plastic hose a little. They can't go in, one side at a time, underneath the tabs?

You only need 2 of the mount tabs, does cutting two off help?

i ended up buying a new set of speakers cause they wouldnt fit in there, i got some pioneers which sound pretty good to me, i was able to get those in there no problem. im just going to save the infiniti 4" for the rear speakers. im going to figure out a way to mount them back there.

Yeah, the Pioneer 4" are nearly an 'OEM-like' fit in there. The Infinities are a lot more work. The Pioneers are a really nice 'quick and easy' upgrade to the stock sound.

I put these exact same speakers in, and yeah the tweeter hit a little, but I just kinda "pushed" it in so that the tweeter just kinda makes a hump in the middle of the stock grille. It is barely even noticeable.

Yes they are, but the OEM dash-top units are 1.75 inch, not 4 inch two-ways...
There is an appreciable difference.

Yes, those are the right ones.

Here's one of the several threads on the subject one can find with a search:

I sell anka speakers, they look like a memphis sound better, because you can angle the tweeter and are priced cheaper and fit in the stock location. I have been selling these or the vegas market for 35.00 installed. Here is couple of pictures
