Hi, i was reading up on the new scion mag from the dealer and it noted that one of the changes on the xB was the speedo changed from white to silver. does anyone have a pic of the illumnation at night of the new silver colored speedo? thanks in advance.

 

Hmm.... I have 2006 xB and my speedo lights up white. I actually changed the rest of my dash illumination to white so it doesn't clashe with my speedometer. And the speedo face is white.

My 2006 is the late model xB. The one wth new airbags and steering wheel audio controls.

 

hmm...maybe the mag misprinted this.

 

The speedo in my RS 2 is dark green to match my radio. But then again, all lights at night are dark green. I wear sun glasses when I drive at night! Really, I do. The darker the better.

 

i'm sure the newer cars have a different gauge face..

 

Maybe they meant 2007 xB color change

 

i think the xA changed faces on the '06 at least.

 

they did...the xa got red needles and a white speedo

 

Hey PETESKI. I also have an 06 xB, and I have white speedo light. I did notice that the dash illumination looked weird being orange and all, and wondered where you got yours changed at? I don't know hardly anything about cars, but I do wanna change up those lights. Preferably purple. Any more info. would be great. THANKS.

if you're talking about changing out colors for the leds.. me or my buddy paul (whiteblazer01) can hook that up for ya.

 

a thread was posted about how to change the led colors in the spedo yourself...does anybody know where that thread is??? i cant seem to find it when i search

Like others said - check the tech section. Also, there are several threads on this in the "ICE and Interior" section. Purple might be a bit difficult as purple LEDs are not as common as other colors. You might need to use some sort of a purple filter over white LED.
