Default Stereo System Text

I have a question about the stereo system. Only on one of my cd's does it tell you what the title of the song is, and who sings it. On all of the others it shows No Title. Does the stereo system, only show that with certain brands of cd's? The only one that it does that for is a burnt Memorex cd's, all of the other burnt cd's or store bought cd's just say No Title.

most cd's don't have cd-text encoded on them.. you might take your store bought cd's and burn an audio cd (copy), then once the nero or roxio program access the music database online, it will insert this text.. only way i can think of getting the cd-text on there

CD Text is a format that I believe was proposed and championed by Sony. I don't know why it never became popular (possibly licensing?) but you'll most likely find CD Text on albums in the Sony Music catalog. Or you can create your own CDs with CD Text if your burner and software support it.

All of my burnt cd's are Sony and they don't show the text. The only one that does is the Memorex one.

it doesn't matter who produced the cd-r's or cd-rw discs you are using.. Sony the company pioneered the cd-text idea.. any blank cd-r or cd-rw can hold cd-text data.. I have nero 6.3 and it automatically downloads from the CDDB (cd-database) online the album info and puts it onto the cd for me.. very cool feature.. and yes you can manually enter the info in any burning software.. just change the name of the track.. usually at the bottom of the burning menu is something that says "include cd-text info" or "burn cd-text".. something like that..

but again, it doesn't matter what cd brand you're using.. the reason your memorex is showing the cd-text info is because it was burned with it on there..

on a seperate note i found that fujifilm cd-r's at best buy work very well.. I tried TDK but the pioneer loaded the fujfilm cd's quicker.. so that's what I've stuck with

hope that helps..

Not sure what "CD Text" is, but if you're burning MP3 files onto a CD, make sure all of the files you're burning have their ID3v1 tags encoded into the files. ID3v2 tags will not work.

It doesn't matter what kind of CD-Rs you're using. The ID3v1 tags are the key.

cd-text is for regular cd audio, not mp3's.. it contains some of the same info as the id tags for mp3's, in uncompressed audio format (regular cd audio).. it burns a data track at the beginning of the audio disc and those players that can read cd-text can pick this up and display title, track info..

The burning method also has an effect as well. In EZCD Creator if you select "Track at Once" it won't include the CD-Text. You must use the "Disc at Once" method. I think both Nero and EZCD don't automatically include the text either, it is an option you select when you burn it.
