Default Stock 6 Disc Head Unit Error 4 ???

Tried to search with no results so :

I was flipping through the disc changer today & when I found the disc I wanted & Error 4 appeared on the screen & the disk wouldn't play. Tried to Eject with no luck, tried hitting FM then back to Disc no luck, Error 4 !!! I got home ran in the house real quick came back out started the car & the disc ejected. I put the disc back in & it played & haven't had a problem since.

Anyone else ???

Anyone know what the hell Error 4 means ???

If it happens again is there anyway to fix it other than rebooting the player ???

Thanks

So nobody has had this problem ???

Hmmm sounds like a quick trip to the dealer then.

Well at least it hasn't happened to me again.

I had the problem in my old xA, its happened to alot of them... The only thing you can do is like you said, take it to the dealer... They will order a warranty replacement... Thats what they had to do for me when i kept getting "Error 4"

Thanks for your help, I am going to take it to the dealer & see if I can't get it fixed before it becomes a bigger problem.

Be sure not to use cd's that you made with stick-on labels, damaged cd's, or discs that are smaller than normal or odd shaped discs.
There isn't much clearance in those changers. I am still dumbfounded by how the in-dash 6 CD changer works.

I had the same problem with the error 4. I got mine replaced under warrenty as well and they said it was because of burnt CD's. They said they are thicker then normal CD's which jammed it but I think he was full of ____. If it happens again I am getting an aftermarket CD player.

The dealer found the error 4 problem on mine and then explained to me that it was an "ID ten T error" and will be fixed under warranty. What does that mean?

I dont know what it means but Im pretty sure your whole changer is junk. My as well not waste anymore time waiting because nothing is going to change. Scion really needs to work on this issue!

It worked just fine before I took it out, I actually regret taking it out. It worked better than my new head unit.

Thats funny dude. An "ID Ten T" error. Look at it like this - "ID10T" or "Idiot". They so made fun of you, and you had no idea. Sorry dude...

I just bought my 05 Xb....LOVE IT... I just figured out that my disc changer also says error 4. I am going to take it up to the dealer today. Although, from what I hear here. I might just buy an aftermarket.
