Stock head unit watts????
Sorry guys but I tried several searches and got no hits on the site.
Tried "stock head unit", "Pioneer deck", "stock deck", "Pioneer wattage" and many others.
Does anyone have or know what the actual specs are of the stock Pioneer head unit in the 2005's?
I am looking for wattage running out of the channels. Also has any one looked to see or does anyone know what the rated handling wattage is of the 4 speakers that Scion provides in their cars?

I don't think it's 40x4 obviously cause you have the tweeters so you have 6 speakers.
It's probably like 30x4 then 20x2 for the tweeters, I doubt it would be even throughout for the tweeters and woofers.

Are you sure that the Tweets are separate or are they a dual speaker in the door running off of 1 channel. That's what I am trying to find out.
I am going to purchase a 2 channel amp and run it in 3 channels. I just want to know what type of power I am sending to the FRONT speakers because I am going to replace them with better ones.
Then the 2 rears will run off of a pioneer GMX 572 Amp with the addition of 1 Pioneer 10" sub. I am also replacing the rear speakers so the power issue for them isn't an problem.

Well that was just a thought so I'm not quite sure.
I plan on replacing everything myself too. I'm going to go ahead and put in an amp/sub that will be seperate. Then I plan to replace all 4 door speakers and run them off a seperate amp.
Sounds like you have a good plan for a decent system
