Default stock speaker wiring

Well, I have some really good memphis 4 inchers up front, and just got some pioneer tsg's for the rear. Problem is, I dont want to run an amp, but i would like to get the most out of my 4 inch speakers up front. I have wired them directly to the headunit, to bypass the stock wiring which links the 4 front speakers together.

My question is, how much of a power difference is there between straight wiring and the stock wiring, and am i at risk of blowing the memphis 4 inchers if i dont run anough power to them>

The easiest way to have just the door speakers connected up front is to pop the covers off the dash-top units, and un-plug them right there. That will leave just the door speakers connected to the head unit.

The normal split between door and dash put most of the power to the doors, anyway (due to different speaker impedance).

With the stock HU most any decent car speaker can more than handle the power, cause there isn't really all that much available. The potential for damage is turning the HU up to the point where it's final starts distorting really badly. at that point it could potentially damage a weak speaker, but unlikely.

Good luck!

Beautiful, thank you. Ideally I would run an amp, but i really dont want to. Also, putting 2 ways in the truck might mess up my sound stage, but I'm just wanting to experiment.

It looks like the fronts are parallel? Uh, been since high school electronics. Maybe if I tie the door and rear speakers together at the headunit and run seperate wires the the 4inchers I will get good power to the best speakers and let the decent ones split it?
