Default Sub Box Build w/Pics

I want to start off by saying 6 months ago I had my xB broken into twice over the span of 11 days, and had over $1500 worth of stereo equipment stolen (6.1" Kenwood DVD/Nav headunit, 2 12" Subwoofers, and Memphis Audio enclosure). I decided to build a custom built enclosure which hides the subs from anyone who looks through the windows. Here's what I ended up with after 24 hours worth of work.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Extremely solid, fully functional top shelf, and my replacement subs are pounding harder than ever.

Nice work. Does that carpet match well to the eye?

Yes, it's almost identical to the interior carpet color. Snapped the pics from my phone- the flash gave the sub carpeting a blue tint.. I'll post some new photos up within a few days from my legixx camera.

Did you just pick up the black Metra carpet from Crutchfield or wherever? I'm not sure if I should use black or a dark charcoal for mine:

Looks good. I did something similar when I had my 05 xB, except my subs were downward firing, and I wrapped the cover in black leather.

I was thinking about ordering carpeting online, but I was pretty excited/motivated to cover the box/get everything finished. I went to Best Buy to find black carpet, but they don't sell it. Believe it or not, I picked up my carpeting from Wal-Mart. They sell it in the automotive section, comes in pre-rolled packaging for under $10 a roll. Picked up two rolls - perfect amount to cover everything, and for the price, I think it's a great bang for the buck.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

Looks great. It looks like you removed the spare and original floor deck? I was thinking of something similar but going up above the shock tower. Then wanted to put the amps on a pull out shelf on the bottom.

Would you mind sharing the dimensions?

Nice job keeping some usable space in a very small cargo area!
