Default sub combos

im purchasing my audio equipment before i get a xB here in indiana and was wondering if two 15s in a nice sized box or 1 15 in a ported box would be worth my money??? im planning on running some 51/4 mids and some 61/2 components off a 400.4 amp so im really just lookin to add some low end 250 hz and lower thump
any suggestions?

go with 3 12's in the same chamber....by putting them in the same chamber u cause a coupling effect....the subs will play extremely low..... and with a smaller cone area then a 15 its response is faster....with 3 12's in the same chamber u can effectively play lower Hrz then a 15....good 15's will roll off around 35-38hrz ive heard and done 3 12's in the same chamber setup.....rolloff was around 27hrz....
an ideal setup for an good hi-fi would be 4 10's in the same chamber....10's have very fast response and with 4 in the same chamber u could easily play as low as an 18 inch sub....but way way way more accurately

you want spl or sq?....do you still want cargo room?

as for the mids and highs i would use cdt audio

if you want sq go with 2 12 dayton dvc in a slot port box tuned to 26Hz....If you want to go that route contact me i can supply you with a blueprint for the box design

well i want to go spl with the subs but im leaning toward two infinity perfect 12 in a 3.5 ft3 ported enclosure tuned to around 35-37hz.....

No i dont want to keep my cargo space considering im a student... it would be nice to be able to remove it

Ya, don't do Infinity. they don't hit as hard as you will want. My 3 10s sound clear as day inside the car but when you turn up the juice, they get nasty imo

if u want spl...go with a spl sub. but you wont get quality. u can go with both...i ran 3 12" JL w6's....hit pretty hard. get kickers if u want a lot of bass. mtx has the 9500 coming out. thats a good sub, a retuned version of their rfl...more quality. kicker solox...u would need a whole lot of power to run that thing. eclipse titaniums are nice too. diamond audio has good quality products, sound quality is their thing. u have to keep in consideration, you will have to buy a large amp to power any of the above listed subs. i was underpowering my system with a alpine 1507 1500 watt amp.

yea i kno but now that i ve been playing alot of music on are home theater im liking loudness but i dont want a sloppy sound.... I really love RF products in trunks of cars but in a hatchback im looking for noticable bass reproduction not just bass that sets car alarms off.. anyone know where i can purchase Adire Brahamas(sp?) online????

And how does this sound:
4 4ohm perfects (10) in 4 indivual 1cube enclosures.... off a 1200watt jbl amp
or
2 dual 2 ohm 15s (i want a wall!!!) in ??? enclosures powered by a 1500 wat at 1 ohm hifonics amp

That hifonics brutus is some powerful stuff. Mark (vegasscion) has one powering a 15" RE audio sub in a 4 cu. ft vented box. That's some loud stuff.

I'm actually considering getting one of those amps........cause I'm pretty sure I'm underpowering my L7s with my 800a2.

I just got a L7 15" dual 2 ohm (old school first generation) from my old car, haven't heard a note I can't play yet... It's in a 4.7 cu. ft. ported box like it recommends as one of the three sizes...

Totalled my car it's now my 5.1 sub...

I have a question to how you people drive the xB around with 3 subs in your car?

King Lou definately throw the Brutus on there and make sure its the 1500watts at 1 ohm not the 750watts at 1 ohm.....

Has anybody played around with the wall idea??? but from what ive heard 2 12 hx2s of a 1000 watt RF amp is plenty bass....

What are you guys running for your elcetrical systems??? Ive heard that most wattage you can run before upgrades is like 200-350.... Alot of you guys are running 3-5 times that amount

Yeah.....that's what I'm looking at.........the 1500 @ 1ohm amp. Plus.....I think Mark said they underrate them......so its more in the area of 1600. Both subs are 4ohm DVCs.......so I've got each wired to 2 ohm. If I run the subs together in parallel......I'll have a 1 ohm load. Aahh.......the wonders of DVC.

And I haven't done any upgrades to my electrical. I've just got a 1 farad cap.

How much money r u looking to spend? If you can afford it 1 kicker solox and 4 kicker 1200.1's to power it will rock your world.

How is the woofer going to take that kinda power? I always thought 1:1 was the way to use the 1200.1

An 18" SoloX will take 10,000 watts. The 12" SoloX........5,000 watts...........and same with the 10" SoloX.

My headlights will dim when my system is all the way up.............but nothing crazy. I've heard people say a groud wiring kit will fix the problem..............dunno if that's true though.
