Default Sub question?

I just got two ten infinitys and I bought these custom boxes for under the front seats.......When i put the sub in the boxes the magnet touches the bottom is that a problem? It has the right volume for the sealed box and everything jsut wondering if that could cause a problem.....Thanks

From looking at the pics of that sub it vents heat out of the pole. Which means there is a hole in the magnet, where the heat comes out at, instead of on the side like some subs do. If the magnet sits on the bottom of the box, heat can not escape and that equals BAD.

Yes if you can do it, make sure there is enough room as possibe for that heat to escape the pole. Double check your sub to make sure it does vent that way, I was only going on pics on the internet.

Sounds to me like even when you mod everything your clearance will be way too tight. You can try adding an MDF ring to the face of your enclosure, but being under your seat that could present new clearance problems.

Your best bet is either new enclosures, or new woofers. The rule of thumb I have always been told is that you want 1/2" of clearance at the back of the sub. I know 1/2" isn't always possible, but touching is NO GOOD.

Great rule of thumb Dustin .

To the above question about the box being sealed and heat. The heat really never goes away, but you dont want it trapped in the pole to the voicecoil, the pole helps it breath.
