Default Subs under the seats?

I would really like to put some subs under the seats - it looks like there's enough space to do it with a compact 8' or a 6'.

This is the amp that I have: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn..._37769,00.html

I want to put them under the seats because I don't want to sacrafice any space. I just want a little bass, and I believe that I can build the box by myself. The only thing I'm really concerned with are the floor vents - I'd have to reroute them so they weren't blocked.

Anyone think it's possible?

Jeebus - how on earth did they manage that? The depth of the box is what I'm talking about - it looks like it's only a few inches deep :?:

obz, Thanks! I think it's pretty clean too, nice and stealth in a stock kind of way...
It is the Kenwood wOOx. Nice system for a clean sound and set-up, in my opinion. It is powered and although not a "true subwoofer" it put's out enough bass to make the already great acoustics of the xB sound really nice. It's not the "share with the rest of the road/street" kind of woofer, just good sounding IMHO! :D

I havea couple days left before I get my xB. I'm building a couple of custom boxes for mine. The one that sounds the best is the one I'm keeping .

I have to agree that the sub underneath the front seats works really well for the xB. I sat in Autosound's xB and really like the sound quality of the bass inside the cabin which is in my opinion is where the bass should remain not the booming sound that announces your arrival to the rest of the world.... Damn, I must be getting old since I used to love the pounding bass that shakes your neigbors windows...

Cool - I was considering a woox unit, but the fact that I already have an amplifier kinda negates that idea. I woudl like to do an installation as clean as the one pictured above in the Matrix, but I guess I'll have to wait to check out my options when it gets here

al, that's the same sorta thing that Infinity does w/ its "basslink". the basslink has its own amp that's contained in the housing. the basslink sounds pretty good also w/o taking up alot of room. come check my xB at the El Toro meet if you're going.

doesn't the subs mess with the airbag sensor underneath the driver seat?

kiCK THE JACK OUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND PUT IT THERE. MY CARS SITS LOW ENOUGH THAT THE STOCK JACK WON'T WORK. I CARRY A SMALLFLOOR JACK AND COMPRESSOR IN THE REAR STORAGE COMPARTMENT. NO SENSOR UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT. BILL

Squirrel --- I was looking at that, too! When Iwas initially looking to "hide" it in the rear compartment. I'd love to get a listen to it, thanks! I have heard it in the trunk of an IS and it is pretty nice sounding...deep too!

Al,

Na'im(xB_ey) has the Inifinity basslink in his xB, it sounds really nice. He's coming down w/ me on friday (day). Roger(scionara) has the subwoofer in his storage compartment, and he'll be down friday night also. I've heard the basslink in a matrix and wrx, and it sounded nice also.
