Default SUBWOOFER ?S

i am thinking about getting some subs for my xb and i was looking into the boxes for them, and i noticed that if the subs pointed to the outside, back, of the car that it would close, if not touching the trunk. i have seen people have them pointed to the roof, or top of the car? which way do you think would be better for sound quality. Out or Up?

if you're going to go complete SQ, it probably wont matter which way you fire them. If you are wanting SQL, I'd say fire them toward the rear....the idea of corner firing design is supposed to add (slight) dB.

This here is a real big toss up discussion.

I have 2 infinity 12's and at 1st I had them firing towards the rear and it sounded awsome.. Nice and loud, but with the amp that I am using I decided to turn them so they are firing up. I think, on certain songs, that the subs are louder firing up then firing back but this could be due to me not having a lot of room between the subs and the rear hatch..

Of course this is going to be a discussion that will never result in a final answer, but merely only one's discrection.

My suggestions is....if you can, try firing the subs in both directions and see what you think is best.. I am leaving mine firing upwards for now.

It'sgoing to depend on several factors. Subs, enclosure type, etc. My opinion? Put the subs you want in the box you'll be using and face it every way you can think of, and see which renders the best results. That's the only way you're going to be able to tell.
