Default SuperFa DIY

So this is the beginings of the DIY I'll be writting of the SuperFa door locks I just installed.

More later, Its a work in progress.

Step One: Find a Scion (anyone will do but try and get permission from the owner to mod it if its not yours)

Step Two: Get a friend (not really needed and anyone will do even one that looks like this)

Step Three: Find a shop or garage to do your work in.

Step Four: Get a heater to heat the FREEZING COLD GARAGE you chose to work in (see step three)

Step Five: Begin uninstalling the doors (uperFa has great instructions)

Step Six: Install product and step back to see you handy work!

Step Seven: Realize you locked your keys in the car and call wife crying for her to bring her set of keys to your roomates shop. (Note all locks in locked position and warning lights on in the dash thereby informing you I was a DORK and locked my keys in the car.)

Step Eight: Install SuperFa sticker and wait for the good people at SuperFa to send you the other stickers they said they would send.

ALL in ALL, VERY good directions, very nice product. THREE THUMBS WAY UP!!

ROFL, When we installed mine, I locked my keys in my car too.

I like the green, but I can't wait to see what else they come out with, like 2 color versions or something.

they are on when the car is on or the key is in the on position. I am amazed how bright these little guys are and how painfully easy the install was. All in all, I cant wait to see whast next form these guys!!!

GREAT DIY INTRUCTIONS...on the next run I'll have to include Step 7 in the instructions. It'll give the customer time to admire their work .

That's the simple install...if you want to run a switch it's a piece of cake. You still do everything in the instructions, except run the power wires to a central switch.

I seriously had my doubts when I was approched by these guys, I thought it was just another LED 'neon look' type product, but I have to say HANDS DOWN this is one of the coolest things I've done to my car. Also no doubt in my mind about the quality of the pieces. Everything looks great and went together like butta....except the locking my keys in the car part...... THREE MORE THUMBS WAY UP!

they're not to shabby. My only gripe was it took a "where's it at?" phone call and two weeks to get from one state away - but that's minor and not a huge biggee.

Installed 2 sets the other night, to be honest, they're almost TOO bright at night. Some may want to cinsider drilling the holes down a tad more so you can do the "lowered door lock" look and then they wont be able cast off much light if you lock the doors - or... just wire a damn switch already. Works well on the RS1 since they can just be wired to the existing "Illumination" button by the shifter.

Also nicer to add a few relays and wire them to the lock/unlock wires so they will flash every time you lock/unlock.

Wiring for the straight forward install is simple enough though - kinda idiot proof. tkes about 15-20 mintues to install all 4.

Orange locks are ORANGE. BRIGHT ORANGE

"Pink" is actually more purple than anything else. (wife's idea... not mine...)

Once again, sorry bout that Tint...we're still kinda new to the whole internet sales thing, but we're getting it worked out. I like the relay idea, too. I think I'll try it tommorrow. I'd like to see some pictures of your cars if ya get a chance. I bet they look hot.

Thanks again,

Shawn

*wonders if she dares say she'd allow this to be attempted on her xB*

and wouldn't 'she'? ... it's only a few wire taps ... not an air hammer and die grinder across the hood.

don't like it, take 'em off.

the relays sound like a very good idea. I might have to look into that. I was actually thinking of tapping them into my LED underbody lights so they would flash and or pulse like my lights are able to do and be able to turn them on and off remotely.

Ahhh winter projects....... nothing to do around the house cause its too cold? go break things in your garage!!!
