Default Taillights

I been trying to find that post where a guy cleared his taillights to find the answer to this but I can't find it.

But when the taillights are cleared does the brake lights light up red still? or do they only light up red since it has that big red round cap over it? I notice the light is clear when I remove it. I plan on clearing the tails but not sure if I need new bulbs that are red or not.

open up your taillights and remove the red cap and the red reflector. this will make them illegal if you care but will make them clear. the bulb won't light up red so you will need to get one that does. heres a couple threads for you.
